Accessibility statement

This statement was last updated on 2 October 2026.

We at The Centre for Strategic and International Governance are working to make our site, csig.org.uk, accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility measures on this site

We aim for this site to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. It has not yet been independently audited. As part of this effort, we have:

  • Built each page with semantic HTML and a clear heading structure, so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can navigate it
  • Provided a “skip to content” link, made all functions usable by keyboard alone, and shown a visible focus indicator
  • Set the language of the site (British English)
  • Chosen text and background colours that meet the WCAG AA minimum contrast ratio
  • Added alternative text to informative images
  • Made the layout responsive, so that content reflows and can be enlarged in the browser without loss of content or function
