Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

1. Introduction

The Centre for Strategic and International Governance (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect and process your personal data when you contact us or send us an enquiry through our website.

2. Data we collect

When you submit a form on our website we collect the information you enter: your name and email address and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, organisation, position, subject and message. We also record the date and time of your submission and that you confirmed you had read this policy. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website.

3. How we use your data

We use your details only to respond to your enquiry and to manage our communications with you, for example to consider a membership, expert-register or partnership enquiry. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and, for membership and partnership applications, on taking steps at your request before an agreement is made. We do not use your data for any other purpose.

4. Data sharing and storage

We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. Form submissions are saved in a Google Sheet and notified to us by email, using Google services (Google Sheets and Gmail), which process the data on our behalf. Our website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare, which handles form submissions in transit and uses its Turnstile service to detect automated spam. Some of these providers process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We do not process your personal data on behalf of others, and access to submissions is limited to authorised CSIG personnel.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry details for 24 months after our last contact with you, and then delete them. If you become a member or partner of the CSIG, we keep your details for as long as that relationship lasts.

6. Your rights

Under the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us at info@csig.org.uk

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
